They’re calling it May Movie Madness.
The three cinemas in question are the Classic in Elsternwick, Lido in Hawthorn and Cameo in Belgrave and from this Thursday 20 May to Wednesday 26 May they are selling all regular session tickets for just $5.
That’s right. Just $5. I don’t think I’ve seen those prices since my local, outer-suburban cinema was desperately trying to get bums on seats just before closing down and relocating to the new, snazzy and now (fifteen years later) behemoth shopping centre down the road.
There is one exception to the regular session tickets rule, which is that there will be sneak previews to the highly-anticipated thriller A Quiet Place: Part II this weekend. Those tickets will also be just $5.
Other flicks you can catch for a fiver include Oscar winners Nomadland and The Father as well as Minari. Angelina Jolie’s new film Those Who Wish Me Dead is also on the list and joined by Promising Young Women, The Godmother, Death of a Ladies Man and The United States vs Billie Holiday.
But if this wasn’t mad enough, then these three cinemas are also offering up a Lifetime Membership where anyone who signs up to become a member from Thursday 20 May to Wednesday 26 May will go into the running to win cheap movie tickets until 2099! Already a member? Not a problem, you can renew your membership and go into the running too.
To see all films and tickets for the next week of cheap-as movie tickets, check out Classic in Elsternwick, Lido in Hawthorn and Cameo in Belgrave.
