Adventure Park in Geelong is lighting up this festive season for the stunning Christmas Festival of Lights. Bask in the glow of over 3.3 million lights, and wander down enchanting trails and glittering bridges in this 50-acre wonderland. On top of the glistening lights, there’s plenty of Christmas activities and entertainment for the family, including an expansion to Santa’s Village! This sparkling event at Adventure Park is on from now until Christmas Eve (December 24).
Christmas Festival of Lights at Adventure Park
Journey along the shimmering pathways, and discover over 1000 glowing light installations. There’s heaps of dazzling new displays for you to immerse yourself in, including an interactive dancing piano and floating lunar lanterns. You can also expect winter wonderlands, animal displays, giant toys, sparkling tunnels and glittering bridges.
Keep the merriment going with a visit to Santa’s Village. Now taking over two zones, you’ll encounter dancing polar bears, singing reindeer and glowing gingerbread houses in this Christmas wonderland. Meet Mrs Claus and mail your letter to Santa at the North Pole Post Office. If you’d like to meet the big man, Santa will also be available for professional photos. Get creative with Christmas crafts and cookie decorating while you’re there.
Listen to Christmas carols performed by the South Barwon Salvation Army Band, and get your face painted for an extra dose of fun.
Of course, there’s a stack of rides to try out too. Take in the view of the glowing park below by riding the Ferris Wheel, the Air Balloons ride or even the Crazy Coaster. The Tea Cups, Little Buggy Speedway, Grand Carousel, Red Baron, Wave Swinger and Mini-Golf will also be available to try.
During the day
Keen for some fun in the sun? Swing by Adventure Park during the day to have fun on the water rides. Take the plunge on the new Thunder Falls, the first free-fall drop waterslide in Victoria. A trapdoor will send you into a 105-metre white-water freefall, reaching speeds of up to 35km per hour. For more fun, try out the Tsunami, Victoria’s only triple-funnel waterslide, dare to experience the 7.5 storey Tornado or race on the six-lane Aqua Racer.
If you’re after a more chill experience, drift along the tropical lazy river, make a splash in the aqua play zones for young children and find some shade under one of the Cabanas.
