Prahran Square Is Hosting A Light And Sound Experience Featuring ”A Mystical Tribe Of Otherworldly Characters”

Airship Orchestra will light up your night.

From the team that brought Sky Castle to Fed Square late last year and the Sonic Light Bubble to White Night 2017, Eness has now landed their Airship Orchestra, an immersive sound experience, in Prahran Square. (Featured image: studioeness)

According to Eness, Airship Orchestra is a collection of 20 inflatables representing ”a mystical tribe of otherworldly characters” who have travelled from afar to be here. Those who visit these travellers are drawn into their formation to experience the musical score (written for a 20-person choir) as light pulsates all around them.

The music is minimalist in style and allows visitors to form their own origin stories—where did this mystical tribe come from?—as they move around the installation. Just don’t be afraid if you find eyes following your every move.

Although the pop-up is actually the last in a series of experiences lighting up Stonnington’s parks and gardens, it’s one of our favourites and one that you should definitely check out. No excuses if you’re already in the area.

Airship Orchestra is on now at Prahran Square, from 6-10pm, until Sunday 16 May. It is free to go and see.
