& Juliet
In this hilarious and poignant musical, you’ll follow the original Anne Hathaway as she challenges her husband, Shakespeare, to remix his play. This musical will celebrate self-discovery and second chances. Will Juliet choose her own fate and get the ending she truly deserves? You’ll just have to watch to find out.
This jukebox musical features plenty of familiar hits from Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, The Weeknd and more. There’s also an original song made from pop songwriter Max Martin.
“& Juliet takes the greatest love story of all time and gives it a brilliant 21st century remix,” said Michael Cassel, Australian Producer. “It’s big, it’s bold and it’s a true celebration on stage, overflowing with amazing pop music by the legendary Max Martin, who has had more #1 hits than any other artist this century. As audiences, more than ever before, we want to feel uplifted, we want to celebrate, we want to have a great time. & Juliet gives us all of that.”
& Juliet was nominated for nine Olivier Awards, and won three. It also won six WhatsOnStage Awards in 2020, the most of any production that year.
As well as music from Max Martin, the show has some serious talent under its belt. The book is by David West Read, writer for Netflix’s Schitt’s Creek, with choreography from Jennifer Weber and set design from Soutra Gilmour. & Juliet is directed by Luke Sheppard, who has also directed In the Heights and Rent.
