Looking for a mischievous night out? Arcane Fairies has just opened in the CBD, and it’s Australia’s first cocktail bar to feature a zipline system for drinks. Order a cocktail, and watch it glide through the air directly to your table. There’s over 50 metres of ziplines suspended in the air, as well as towering fairies, twisted nests and glowing flower lights. On top of the drinks, you’ll find a menu designed by celebrity chef Jake Warhurst, who has worked at Michelin-starred and hatted kitchens around the world. Arcane Fairies is now open on Lonsdale Street from Wednesdays to Sundays.

Step into this theatrical space and feel like you’ve entered another world. Make your way to the centre of the venue, where you’ll find a fairy chest bar. Order a signature elixir, or opt for a rare spirit from the back bar. You’ll also find a range of craft beers and Guinness on tap. If you dare, turn a hidden key for a secret surprise.
Slide into a booth, and watch your drink soar through the air, underneath the watchful eyes of the fairies above.

“The ziplines were always the hero,” said Director Steve Thomas, who was also behind the fairytale-themed bar StoryVille. “We wanted to create something Melbourne hasn’t seen before, an experience that feels theatrical, immersive and just a little bit wild. Watching your cocktail fly in from above never gets old.”
When you’re not sipping on magical concoctions, indulge in a late-night bite from the kitchen from Head Chef Jake Warhurst. Warhurst was once the Head Chef on Richard Branson’s private island, before touring the United States as Drake’s personal chef. Other past clients also include George Clooney and NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

“I wanted the food and the venue to be a pilgrimage for Melbourne’s late night legends,” said Warhurst. “Everything on the menu was built around the absolute classic late night eats.”
Feast on his cult-favourite smash burger, loaded with Warface sauce, or feel the heat from fiery Nashville hot chicken. You’ll also find spicy noodles, Melbourne-exclusive folded pizzettas, lobster donuts and fairy crack fries, loaded with an arcane spice. There’s gluten-free and vegan options on the menu, so everyone can join in on the fun.
