We have lots of fond memories of heading down the Mornington Peninsula and hanging out at Arthurs Seat Eagle. And now, something really exciting is coming to this popular attraction. It will get a massive upgrade, adding a 360-degree observation tower, a mountaintop luge ride, a cafe expansion and an indoor immersive experience centre. Construction will begin in early 2026, and it will all be delivered in stages. The final project is expected to be complete in December 2028.

Arthurs Seat Eagle upgrade
This destination already attracts up to 277,000 visitors a year. The upgrade will transform Arthurs Seat Eagle into a year-round destination, inviting more tourists to explore Mornington Peninsula beyond the busy summer months.
Inspired by the original summit lookout, the new observation tower will invite guests to see the Peninsula from a new perspective. This 34-metre tower will rise just above the tree canopy, offering panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay. The new design will be inspired by the twisting form of local gum trees, allowing it to integrate with the natural landscape. It will feature a 10.5 metre platform that will welcome up to 55 visitors.

Adventure-seekers will have a blast with Victoria’s first mountaintop luge ride. In this attraction, guests will ride through the bushland between the Base Station and the Summit Station. The 1,440-metre-long ride will follow the natural curve of Arthurs Seat, offering a thrilling experience for families. Parts of the track will be lifted off the ground, so that wildlife can travel underneath.
As for the new immersive experience centre, tourists will be able to explore the coastal environment and cultural history of the Peninsula through interactive displays, educational programs and sensory installations.
Meanwhile, the cafe have a facelift, with a revitalised outdoor terrace, expanded seating and an enhanced menu.

This project was shaped over the last 18 months with the help of extensive community engagement and feedback. During construction, Arthurs Seat Eagle will stay open whenever it is safe and practical. If you’re visiting, just double check for any temporary closures or updates via their website or social media before you go.
