Let loose in this dreamy urban oasis.
After being cooped up at home, you’re going to want to get out there and party. A unique entertainment venue is coming to Melbourne soon, and it could be just the thing you need to shake off the lockdown blues. ATET, a unique floating barge, is coming to Docklands, and it will feature two bars, a retractable roof and world-class sound and lighting systems. Expect this floating party barge to open this summer.
ATET in Docklands
This new venue, ATET, is named after the boat that transported the sun god Ra. The project has transformed the Alma Doepel barge site, which was sold earlier this year.
This event space will largely be used for music events, with a focus of bringing culture and life back into Docklands. You’ll find it at the end of North Wharf in Docklands, against the dramatic backdrop of the Bolte Bridge. However, it’s also a mobile space, and will be able to move to different locations around Port Phillip Bay when needed. It’s designed to be completely self-sufficient and off the grid.
ATET will be a versatile space capable of fitting 600 people. Expect this outdoor entertainment venue to have two levels, with a stage, two bars, dining areas and more. It will also have a retractable roof to handle the unpredictable Melbourne weather.
Disconnect from reality and feel a sense of freedom out on the open water. Party-goers will arrive on foot by strolling through Victoria Harbour Promenade. There is also a drop-off section for taxis and rideshare services. At the end of the evening, there will also be courtesy buses to transport people back to the city or to Southern Cross Station.
