A unique entertainment venue is opening in Melbourne this weekend, and it could be just the thing you need to welcome the summer season. ATET, a fancy floating party barge, is coming to Docklands, and it will feature two levels, two bars, a commercial kitchen and world-class sound and lighting systems. The party starts this weekend, with an epic launch event on Saturday starting at 1pm and ending at 1am.
ATET in Docklands
ATET is named after the solar barge that transported the sun god Ra. Inspired by the open-air parties in Europe, you’ll feel a sense of freedom as you dance and move under the sun. Designed as an outdoor space, the 570-square-metre venue can be enclosed with a PVC roof and wall panels to handle the unpredictable weather.
Capable of fitting 550 people, this event space will largely be used for music events, with a focus of bringing culture and life back into Docklands. An intimate mezzanine level will overlook the primary space below. While you soak in the sun and the breath-taking waterfront views, a world-class sound and lighting system will dazzle your senses. With two bars and a commercial kitchen, you’ll find plenty of delicious food and drink to keep your energy levels up.
At the launch party, you’ll dance under the disco ball and listen to sets from Cane Trott, Clare Choveaux, Donald’s House, Olivas, PDC, Petra, Very Jerry and Walter Juan. Tickets are available at the door only.
You’ll find it at the end of North Wharf in Docklands, against the dramatic backdrop of the Bolte Bridge. Although it’s walking distance from the CBD, you’ll feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the city in this floating oasis.
ATET’s also a mobile space, and will be able to move to different locations around Port Phillip Bay when needed. The versatile venue is also capable of holding functions, like corporate events and weddings.
