Founded by industry heavyweight Penny Sippe, the second Australian Cocktail Month will be sliding special cocktail menus into some of Melbourne’s best cocktail bars for the entire month of May. We’re excited because not only do these Melbourne bars have some of our best bartenders at the helm, some of Australia’s best alcohol brands are supplying the spirits to see what these mixologists can come up with.
From 1 May to 31 May, participating bars across Melbourne—and across Australia too, including Geelong—will have exclusive cocktail menus for Australian Cocktail Month ticket holders. You can get your special ticket here.
In Melbourne, there are 24 bars that will take part in the festival’s second edition. In alphabetical order, they are:
- 1806
- Baby Jane
- Bar Margaux
- Beneath Driver Lane
- Black Pearl
- Bomba
- Bouvardia
- Caretaker’s Cottage
- Clooney by XO
- Eau De Vie Melbourne

Like we said, some of the best bars in Melbourne.
All you will need to do to get exclusive access to the special menus is pick up a ticket for $20+bf. Then, show it at the bar and choose from one of the $14 options available. Yes, you’ll need to pay again but the cocktails you’ll be able to order will not be made available without an Australian Cocktail Month ticket. If last year is anything to go by, you can expect unique concoctions and some fancy drinks.
A huge number of high-profile international and local brands have gotten behind the initiative this year, which basically means that our best bartenders have been given plenty more products to work with—and some they wouldn’t normally be experimenting with. Low alcohol options have been included as well as mocktails for those keen on a fancy drink but not keen on getting boozy.
As usual, you’ll be able to take your Australian Cocktail Month interstate with you. This year there are 12 cities across the country getting in on the mixology fun, including the nation’s capital, regional cities and the Top End as well.
Tickets to the second Australian Cocktail Month are on sale now.
