International Dog Day is coming up on August 26. To celebrate, Moonee Ponds Central is hosting their inaugural Bark Fest event. Take your pupper and enjoy a week of doggie treats, goodies, paw-traits and more. If you don’t have a dog, but you still love a good cuddle, then you’ll want to stop by a delightful patting zone. Bark Fest will run from Saturday August 20 to Saturday August 27.
Bark Fest
At this fur-bulous festival, you’ll pamper your pooch with a whole range of awesome activities. Enter the Vanity Fur’s Best Dressed Photo Comp for your chance to win a $1,000 Coles gift card. Upload a picture of your dog in their best outfit. For each photo submitted, Moonee Ponds Central will donate $1 to Second Chance Animal Rescue.
Love taking pictures? Keep the fun going by taking a family photo at the pet pawtraits set. You will need to bring your own camera, and your own doggie costumes, to this experience. Snap a pic at the set to get in the running to win $250 to spend at My Pet Warehouse.
Go shopping for your pet and find a whole range of items from retailers at Moonee Ponds Central, including doggie treats and cute outfits. Then, get an exclusive Bark Fest doggy bag, filled with awesome treats from My Pet Warehouse.
There will also be a whole range of inspiration, from pupcake recipes to getting fit with your pet, that will help strengthen your bond with your dog.
On Saturday August 27, there will also be free face painting and dog balloons to keep the kids entertained.
Meanwhile, on Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27, there will be an adorable Pat-A-Dog zone. There, you’ll meet and cuddle hard working dogs from the Australian Border Force. While you’re there, you might just feel a connection, and become inspired to foster one. Bookings are not required for this experience, but there are capacity limits.
