Follow the smell of fresh croissants and the sounds of accordions to Queen Victoria Market, which will once again host the annual Bastille Day French Festival. Feel whisked away to a French town square, and indulge in delicious treats from French-Australian producers, such as gooey raclette and buttery pastries. While you’re there, sip on wine and soak in the atmosphere with live performers. On top of the market, which is free to attend, there will also be a ticketed program with talks, masterclasses and more. The Bastille Day French Festival will run from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12.

Browse through the winter market, warm up with a glass of mulled wine and enjoy classic French treats, like sweet and savoury crepes, flaky croissants, award-winning saucisson, artisan cheese and more. Online supermarket France at Home will also be there, with imported pantry staples and favourites for you to take home.
Let the music on the Main Stage sweep you away, with live performers bringing the sounds of French pop, jazz, funk and pop-rock to Melbourne. Think classic chansons, cheerful accordion tunes and energetic sets. Past festivals have also featured Can-Can dancers and mime artists.
If you’re keen, the St Kilda Pétanque Club will be at the market, so you can give this French sport a go.
