This seaside Melbourne suburb is hosting a farmers’ market is this weekend— with 60+ stalls, hot breakfasts and coastal views

Sandringham’s monthly Bayside Farmers Market returns to Trey Bit Reserve this Saturday, bringing more than 60 stalls of seasonal produce, artisan food and local flavours to Melbourne’s bayside.

Held on the fourth Saturday of the month, the market gives shoppers the chance to buy from growers, producers and makers while enjoying a Saturday morning beside Sandringham beach and the yacht club.

What can you buy at Bayside Farmers Market?

Shoppers can pick up seasonal fruit and vegetables, gourmet meats, seafood and cheese, along with fresh bread, baked goods, honey, preserves, fresh flowers and other locally made treats.

There’s also coffee and food to enjoy at the market, so visitors can stop for breakfast or a morning snack while browsing the stalls and catching up with friends.

With over 60 stalls, the market can also be a chance to pick up ingredients and other essentials for the week, alongside a few treats to take home.

The market takes place at Trey Bit Reserve, next to the Sandringham Yacht Club and close to the beach, with views across Port Phillip Bay. The reserve also provides green space for children to play.

A community market with a cause

The Bayside Farmers Market is organised by the Rotary Club of Hampton and Rotary Club of Sandringham in partnership with Regional Farmers’ Markets.

A gold coin donation at the entrance supports Rotary projects in the local community and further afield. Sandringham Rotary says donations, together with trader fees, help fund projects locally and internationally. The market also supports the local community through Rotary’s fundraising and volunteer work.

The market is family-friendly, too, and dogs are welcome on lead, so there’s no need to leave the four-legged member of the household at home.

Parking and getting there

Parking is available opposite the main market entrance and along Jetty Road, with a larger car park at the end of Jetty Road near the Sandringham Yacht Club.

There is also parking on Beach Road, on the city side of Sandringham Football Ground. From there, visitors can walk south along the beachside coastal trail to the market entrance.

Parking is metered and paid unless you have a valid Bayside residents’ parking permit.
