Two Victorian ghost tours have been named among Australia’s best-rated haunted attractions, with both earning a perfect five-star Google rating ahead of Halloween.
Hide and Seek Paraquest in Drouin and Mysteries Lost in History Paranormal Exploration share first place nationally, with 28 and 23 reviews respectively.
Kyneton Paranormal follows in seventh place nationally with 4.87 stars, while Geelong Gaol Ghost Tours ranks just outside the national top 10 with 4.63 stars from 291 reviews.
The rankings cover 21 ghost tours, paranormal investigations and haunted attractions across Australia. Victoria claims eight places, more than any other state, with its attractions averaging 4.65 stars compared with the national average of 4.64.

The best-rated ghost tours in Victoria
Hide and Seek Paraquest in Drouin shares the national top spot with Mysteries Lost in History Paranormal Exploration, with both attractions receiving glowing feedback from visitors.
One Hide and Seek Paraquest reviewer wrote in May 2026: “Excellent! We really enjoyed our experience – wouldn’t want to be here on my own!”
Meanwhile, a September visitor to Mysteries Lost in History described it as the “Best time of my life!”, adding: “Totally enjoyed everything that was on offer and it was an experience that I’d definitely come back for”.
Then, Kyneton Paranormal ranks third in Victoria, with 4.87 stars from 78 reviews. One visitor praised its mix of entertainment and history, writing: “So much fun and a great way to learn some creepy history!”
Geelong Gaol Ghost Tours follows with 4.63 stars from 291 reviews. A visitor in August 2026 praised its “Great stories from a very engaging tour guide in a spooky building.”

Although Asylum Ghost Tours and Aradale Ghost Tours sit lower in Victoria’s rankings, they have attracted 893 and 860 reviews respectively, making them two of the most-reviewed attractions in the national dataset.
How Victoria compares with the rest of Australia
Victoria leads the country with eight entries in the rankings, narrowly outperforming the national average rating.
Elsewhere, Door Seven Haunted House in Surfers Paradise ranks fourth nationally with 4.95 stars from 661 reviews, while Ipswich Ghost Tours follows at 4.94 stars. Adelaide’s Haunted Horizons Ghost Tours rounds out the national top six with 4.88 stars.
The results also highlight the distinctly Australian character of the ghost-tour scene, with many operators focusing on historic gaols, former asylums and guided paranormal investigations rather than purpose-built haunted houses.
“What comes through in the reviews is that people aren’t only rating the scares. They talk about the guide, the history and whether it felt like a proper night out,” said Oliver Weston, founder of the research company behind the analysis.
How the rankings were calculated
The analysis examined Google Maps listings on 9th October 2026, including attractions with at least 10 reviews and a new review since the beginning of September. The 21 qualifying listings accounted for 5,685 reviews.
Researchers calculated exact average ratings from individual one- to five-star review counts rather than relying on Google’s rounded scores. Where attractions tied, the proportion of one-star reviews determined the lower ranking, followed by total review count.
With two perfect five-star attractions and six more experiences rated above 4.3 stars, Victoria offers plenty of options for anyone planning a spooky Halloween outing.
