Celebrate nature, sustainability and gardening at Botanica Festival. Set on the magnificent grounds of Rippon Lea Estate, this charming festival promises a wholesome day out, with market stalls, garden tours, exhibitions and more. Check it out on Sunday May 19, from 10am to 3pm.
Botanica Festival
Back for its fifth year, this annual event by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) is all about embracing nature. Walk through the picturesque, 14-acre gardens, and take a tour to learn more. See the Victorian Bonsai exhibition, and find a plant to take home from the Estate’s own gardeners.
There will be a panel discussion, with Annette Warner, Lucas Dean and Justin Buckley in attendance. Together, they will discuss sustainability and the conservation of heritage gardens.
While you’re there, browse through the stalls by Rose St. Markets, and find a range of locally-made, artisan products. Then, head inside and explore the Mansion itself.
Country Women’s Association will be at Botanica Festival, serving up their delicious scones. If you’re good at making jam, take part in the Jam Making Competition. Back for its second year, you can enter your jam until Friday May 10, and winners will be announced at the festival.
“The Botanica Festival is not just an event; it’s a celebration of life, growth and the enduring beauty that thrives at Rippon Lea Estate,” said Philip Martins, Interim CEO of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria). “The festival is a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication, and we look forward to sharing this special occasion with visitors from near and far.”
To enter the festival, all you need to do is provide a gold coin donation. Proceeds will support the National Trust with their heritage conservation.
