Christmas Melodies at Hamer Hall
This December concert will bring joy to the world and celebrate the magic of Christmas.
Australian tenor and composer David Hobson will be your host. Meanwhile, the carols and songs will be accompanied by Daisy Valerio, Luke Haberecht and the Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band.
“It’s great that we can finally get together and truly celebrate this Christmas,” said Hobson. “And what better way than to perform with the fabulous Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band who play with big hearts, sound beautiful and can really swing. Also a relief to be back live at the fabulous Hamer Hall. I’ve been performing there since it opened in the early ’80s and, for us Victorians, it’s one of our most iconic meeting places. So come and join me with up and coming talents Daisy Valerio and Luke Haberecht as we sing in this Christmas.”
This concert will take place at 11am and 1:30pm and will run for 60 minutes. Thankfully, due to easing of restrictions, the artists will perform in front of a full house at Hamer Hall.
You will need to show proof of vaccination, and wear a mask during the show.
Christmas Melodies is part of Art Centre Melbourne’s Morning Melodies program. This program, which has delighted audiences for over 35 years, features Australia’s best musicians, vocalists and dancers. Over the years, Morning Melodies has presented over 450 concerts, and welcomed over half a million audience members.
However, due to restrictions this year, the only other Morning Melodies show that took place in 2021 was The Australian Ballet School’s En Pointe in May. As such, Christmas Melodies will welcome both the festive season and a return to the stage.
