Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts, or Asia TOPA, is coming back to Melbourne for the first time in five years. This festival celebrate the best of Asia-Pacific arts, culture and ideas around the city. They’ve announced their Nightlife program, which will feature special events around Melbourne after dark, including Club 8, a pop-up nightclub at Arts Centre Melbourne. Look forward to nine distinct club nights, featuring DJs, experimental performances and more. You’ll find it at the Leaper Family Pavilion in the Theatres Building at Arts Centre Melbourne on select days from February 20 to March 8.
Club 8 at Arts Centre Melbourne
Located on level 8 of the Theatres Building, this nightclub also draws its name from Chinese numerology, where the number eight embodies luck, prosperity and success.
Throughout the nine club nights, you can look forward to live music, performance artists, drag artists, immersive installations and more. Dance to local performers and see international artists from Thailand, the Philippines, New Zealand and other locations around the Asia-Pacific region.
When you’re not tearing up the dance floor, treat yourself to some snacks or a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The events will kick off at 9pm each night. See the full program here.
