We’re spoiled for choice with pop-up cinemas during the summer months, but what about in winter? With longer nights and colder evenings, it’s the perfect time to stay in and snuggle up with a blanket, while watching your favourite flicks. And Cozy Cinema Club is about to make things extra snuggly, with their pop-up cinema at Abbotsford Convent. Sink into a plush bean bag under twinkling fairy lights, warm up with soothing drink and watch your favourite flicks unfold on the big screen. The Cozy Cinema Club will run from Wednesdays to Sundays, from June 11 to August 2. There will be two sessions each night, starting at 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Cozy Cinema Club
Wander over to this stunning historic venue, and enjoy a night of feel-good films, spooky shows, romantic stories and more. Doors open from 6pm each night, and you’re welcome to pop into The Lounge before the show to grab some comforting winter drinks and treats.
Then, grab a blanket from the Blanket Bar, pick a bean bag and get comfy. Seating is unallocated.
Movies on the line-up include The Grand Budapest Hotel, Pride & Prejudice, Spirited Away, The Shining, Lost In Translation, Mamma Mia and more.
This experience is brought to you by Abbotsford Convent and Arclight Event Co, the same creators behind Sunset Cinema and Botanica Festival. To find the Cozy Cinema Club, head towards the Sacred Heart Courtyard. There, you’ll find Magdalen Laundry and the entrance to the cinema space.
Tickets are $26 per person plus booking fee. Children are welcome to come along if they’re with an adult, just note that family pricing only applies to select screenings. Children under 3 can enter for free, but won’t receive a bean bag.
