Step into a shipping container, lose yourself in the darkness and challenge your grip on reality in the immersive Darkfield experiences. Coming back to Melbourne after record-breaking seasons in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane, Darkfield is taking over the Forecourt of Arts Centre Melbourne with their most popular experiences, SÉANCE and FLIGHT. These multisensory experiences will open on Friday December 13, and stay in town for a three months.
Darkfield in Melbourne
Darkfield is brought to you by Realscape Productions, the same team behind the Australian production of the West End play, Ghost Stories. They use binaural audio, sensory deprivation and special effects in a purpose-built shipping container to plunge you into the centre of the story. The chilling SÉANCE and FLIGHT productions have been experienced by over 300,000 Australians.
“We didn’t think a return to Melbourne would be on the cards, but while Darkfield has been on tour, Melburnians have been all over our socials asking when it’s their turn again,” said producer Amy Johnson. “So we knew we had to bring fan-favourites SÉANCE and FLIGHT back to our home city for another season.”
Feeling curious? Proceed with an open mind for SÉANCE, an intense experience that combines a traditional séance with sound technology and sensory deprivation. In the darkness, your senses will become vulnerable to the power of suggestion.
Meanwhile, in FLIGHT, you’ll be thrown through two worlds, two realities and two possible outcomes. Find out all the different things that could happen if the plane cabin you’re in suddenly loses air pressure.
These Darkfield experiences are suitable for audience members aged 13 and above. Those aged between 13 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
