Heading up to the snow this winter? After a day of skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing on Mount Hotham or Dinner Plain, why don’t you rest your weary bones in the warm comforts of an outdoor onsen? Soak like a snow monkey in the 38-degree pool at Dinner Plain Onsen. This mountain day spa is now open for the winter season.
Dinner Plain Onsen
You’ll find this tranquil retreat in the heart of Dinner Plain, just a 12 minute drive away from Hotham Alpine Resort. Set outside among the snow, you’ll soothe your aching muscles as you dip into the steamy healing waters. A two hour bathing session gives you access to the outdoor onsen, as well as an indoor lap pool, sauna and cold plunge pool. Please note, you will need to wear a swim suit, and the two hour pass will provide you with slippers and a towel.
If you’re looking for a bit more luxury, this day spa also offers other indulgent services, like massages and facials. All spa treatments include the use of the onsen and lap pool.
From the school holidays onwards, the team also plan on running Yoga and Pilates classes. If you’re keen on breaking a sweat, there’s also a gym on site. For a bit more relaxation, lounge by the fireplace and sip on organic tea, while tucking into a seasonal grazing platter.
A two hour bathing pass costs $55 per person. This day spa is open daily for bathing and spa treatments from 10am to 8pm.
There’s no entry resort fee to get into Dinner Plain, so while you’re there, take advantage of all of that mountain has to offer by frolicking in the snow, going tobogganing, skiing, snowshoeing and more. If you’re coming in from Mount Hotham, you can take the shuttle bus, which runs daily during the ski season.
