Journey back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the Earth at Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary. Wander along trails and marvel at over 60 animatronic dinosaurs in this prehistoric event. Dinos at the Zoo will run from Friday, April 3 to Sunday, July 12, spanning from the Easter school holidays all the way up to the end of the winter school holidays.

Dinos at the Zoo
There’s three different experiences around Melbourne for you to choose from.
At Melbourne Zoo, trek along the Dino Trail and see all of your favourites, including a T. Rex, raptors, stegosaurus and even a triceratops with babies! Dig for fossils in the excavation site, look out for roaming dinosaur puppets, and treat the kids to dino-themed food packs.
For an Indiana Jones-inspired adventure, head west to Werribee Open Range Zoo. See 14 dinosaurs, as well as smoking volcanoes, bubbling swamps and dino footprints. While you’re there, unearth some truly life-like dino fossils. If you’re more of a nocturnal explorer, check out Dinos After Dark, which will run from April 11 to 18.

Finally, nestled in the Yarra Valley, you’ll find the Lost Sanctuary at Healesville Sanctuary. Meander along the windy paths through natural bushland, and watch as the dinosaurs get bigger and bigger. Little ones will have fun playing in the dome bubble Dino Egg Hatchery. There will also be a Dino Doze silent hour each day between 9am to 10am, allowing those with sensory needs to enjoy the experience while the dinosaurs are quiet and still. There will also be daily ranger talks, including Brachi Banter and T-Rex Tales.
Dinos at the Zoo is included in the admission ticket, so you don’t need to pay extra. Remember, kids under 16 can enter for free on weekends, Victorian school holidays and public holidays.
