Earlier this year, it was announced that new rooftop venue would be taking over the former Madame Brussels site. Well, it’s finally here, and ready to whisk you away to 1980s Tokyo. Say hello to Disuko, a Japanese rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar filled with vibey disco balls, craft cocktails and vinyl tunes. This Bourke St venue is open daily from 12pm to late.

Disuko
This is the seventh venue from MAMAS Dining Group, the same team behind Hochi Mama 3000, Windsor Wine Room and Suzie Q.
Head up to Level 3, and follow the sounds of the DJ on the vinyl decks. Grab a drink from the 8-metre bar, and sip on specialist sakes, highballs and signature cocktails underneath the disco lights. Step out onto the terracotta terrace for city views while you enjoy your drink.

If you’re hungry, find a cosy spot in one of the nooks, booths or banquettes around the moody dining room. On the menu, you’ll find a range of izakaya-inspired dishes, available à la carte or in a ‘Disuko Setto’ for $65 per person. Treat yourself to a playful Fillet-O-Ebi Sando, a crumbed prawn dish inspired by the Japanese McDonald’s fillet-o-ebi. Try the udon carbornara, with dashi smoked bacon lardo and miso sauce. You’ll also find nigiri, seared wagyu, and hibachi-grilled chicken brined in sake for 24 hours.

For something more intimate, opt for the 8-seat Omakase bar, and unwind over a 12-course menu of sushi and sashimi.
Above the terrace, there’s a 30-seat private dining room for celebrations and events.
As for the music, you can look forward to a curated mix of smooth disco, Japanese soul and hip hop. Each weekend, Disuko will have talented DJs on the decks, inviting you to stay and dance into the night.
