The first Friday of June is dubbed Donut Day. It’s kind of an American thing, hence donut instead of doughnut. But, who are we to snub American holidays? Donut specialists across Melbourne are participating in the Donut Day fun, offering some sweet deals to tide you over at home. We’ve rounded up some great sales happening tomorrow so you can get your hands on something doughlicious and nut break the bank.

1. American Doughnut Kitchen

This donut van has been a staple at Queen Victoria Market for about 70 years. And in celebration of Donut Day, they are giving away a free bag of hot jam donuts with every online purchase. Simply head to Queen Vic Market’s online store and purchase some donuts before 10am tomorrow for same-day delivery. You can pre-order it for click and collect if you live within a 10km radius of the market. Otherwise, they do delivery to 150 suburbs.

These doughboys, originally from Bourke Street, are busy setting up a new store in Brunswick. And while they’re at it, they’ve decided to open it up as a pop-up store just for Donut Day. You better move fast, because they’re open from 10am to 2.30pm, or until they sell out.

Head into their new space at 533 Sydney Road, Brunswick to see their range or head to their website to purchase a Doughnut Day Box. This box holds some fun flavours like Basque Cheesecake and Maple Old Fashion. Sweet stuff!

This artisan bakehouse in Windsor is as famous for their range of sweet treats as they are for their creator, Morgan Hipworth, who started the business at the young age of 13. Bistro Morgan is celebrating Donut Day by offering a promo code to give all the donuts on their website a 10 per cent discount. They’re also throwing in a free mini donut if you spend over $25. Due to the lockdown, they’ve introduced a flat delivery rate of $15 to all of Melbourne.
