The Easter Bunny is going all out this year, and he’s starting at Victorian theme park—dropping an incredible 50,000 Cadbury eggs in a single day and daring families to find them all.
On Easter Saturday, 4th April, Funfields Theme Park in Whittlesea will host what’s shaping up to be one of Australia’s biggest Easter egg hunts, with hundreds of children expected to take part in the colourful chocolate chase across the park’s picnic grounds.
Also, with supermarket Easter chocolates up sharply this year, Funfields’ transforms the Easter egg hunt from a sugar rush to a budget-friendly alternative for families chasing value-packed experiences over pricey shopping sprees.
“People want those affordable, feel-good moments,” a Funfields spokesperson said. “Filling a basket with Cadbury eggs is a lot more fun than standing in a checkout line.”
Victoria’s Biggest Easter Egg Hunt

The hunt itself breaks into four age sessions—from toddlers to tweens—running amok between 11:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Little ones aged three and under get first dibs, with older kids joining later waves in what is set to be a fast-paced scramble for chocolate glory.
Beyond the main event, the park will also embrace long weekend vibes with face painting, roaming Easter Bunny sightings and full access to its most popular rides, including the Kraken Racer and SuperNova.
Tickets to the hunt cost $10, though kids aged 12 and under with a Season Pass can join for free—and entry discounts make it one of the few Easter outings that might actually pay off in chocolate.
The Golden Egg Hunt

The festivities have already kicked off online with a Golden Egg Hunt, where Funfields shares daily riddles across its social channels in the lead-up to Easter. Moreover, Lucky solvers will join a final draw to win four season passes for next summer.
Families hoping to take part should book ahead, as the 800-cap limit will fill fast. And with enough Cadbury eggs to make Willy Wonka go nuts, this might just be Melbourne’s sweetest Easter escape yet.
