We just love a winter light show, and if you’re itching for more after experiencing events like Lightscape and Winter Wonderlights, you’re in luck. There’s one more stunning evening display to add to your list. Geelong Botanic Gardens is now shimmering with glowing displays and large-scale installations. At Eclipse: In Bloom, you’ll embark on a journey along an illuminated night trail, which tells the story of a garden coming alive after sunset. This experience is now open, and will run until Sunday, July 26.

Eclipse: In Bloom at Geelong Botanic Gardens
This enchanting experience was inspired by the beauty and biodiversity of the botanic gardens, as well as Australia’s native flora and fauna. As you go, you’ll encounter sparkling lights, swirling projections and dazzling lasers. Experience dreamscapes influenced by Australian landscapes and shifting seasons, with cascading wildflower fields, glowing flowers and creatures like the Blue Banded Bee.
You’re welcome to take your time, and take photos of the installations. Plan to spend at least 45 minutes to an hour at this experience.
This experience is wheelchair accessible and pram-friendly, so the whole family can come along. Do note that the ground can get uneven in some places. As it is winter, remember to rug up.
There are a small amount of food trucks available in case you get peckish.
While you’re in town, don’t forget to swing by Geelong Gallery and check out their blockbuster exhibition about the Impressionists.
