Calling all Potterheads! An enchanting new exhibition is now showing at Melbourne Museum, all the way from the Natural History Museum in London and Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment. Grab your wand and get ready for Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature. This spellbinding exhibition combines science, nature and fantasy, connecting the animals that roam our planet with the magical creatures from the Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts film series. It will stay in town until Sunday October 8.
Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature at Melbourne Museum
This mesmerising exhibition will spark a new sense of admiration for the diversity of life on Earth. It highlights the importance of protecting and preserving our natural world. Connecting fantasy with reality, you’ll learn all about how nature has inspired myths and legends throughout history, such as dragons, merpeople and unicorns.
Go on a journey throughout the exhibition, but beware! Not all is as it seems. You’ll find enchanted beasts and fantastical animals with abilities and behaviours that allow them to dazzle, attract and escape.
You’ll discover specimens and artefacts from London’s Natural History Museum. These will be on display alongside custom-made models from the Wizarding World, props from the Harry Potter films and original artworks from Bloomsbury Publishing.
Then, celebrate real-world scientists, who can help you understand the living creatures on our own planet, so that we can protect them for the future.
“We hope this exhibition will inspire the inner environmentalist in everyone,” said Lynley Crosswell, CEO and Director at Museums Victoria.
Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature is now open, and run until Sunday October 8.
