Looking for a whimsical autumn festival? Bundle up and travel to Fish Creek in South Gippsland for a charming celebration of the humble tea cosy. The Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival will run from Saturday, May 16 to Sunday, May 24.

Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival
After attracting over 9,000 visitors in 2024, this wholesome event is coming back to Victoria. The theme this year is ‘Life on the Farm’, so you can expect a celebration of Gippsland’s rural roots with playful takes on gumboots, tractors, sheepdogs and more.
For the main event, head to Fish Creek Memorial Hall and check out the Tea Cosy Exhibition. See plenty of teapots transformed into fun works of art by talented creatives from around Australia. There will also be additional displays around town, so you can take yourself on a ‘cosy crawl’ along the streets and shopfronts.

Feeling inspired? There will be all sorts of workshops for you to try, including knitting with expert Pru Raymond, an introduction to crochet, learning needle felting and of course, creating your own tea cosy.
Swing by the community market and find works from local artisans, producers and craft makers.

Experience even more art while you’re in the area by seeing more exhibitions, finding the three Art Cubes and wandering through the sculpture garden. Pop into the Alison Lester Gallery & Bookshop for lovely stories and images from this beloved children’s author.
Find Devonshire tea at the main hall, complete with scones, jam and cream. Then, head to the Fish Creek Bowls Club on Sunday the 24th for more classic baked goods from 2 to 4pm .
