With the cost of living continuing to bite and Easter weekend just days away, one Victorian supermarket is giving locals a rare reason to smile at the checkout—a completely free grocery shop.
Between 11am and 12pm on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, shoppers at Ritchies IGA Rowville will have their entire bill covered, no catches or fine print required.
The giveaway is part of an Easter initiative by community-focused business Horsey People, designed to ease the pressure many households are facing as prices climb on everything from groceries to fuel.
“With Easter approaching, we know many families and individuals are feeling the pressure of rising grocery costs, fuel prices and general living expenses,” said Horsey People founder and director Menashe Segman.

Moreover, Store manager Dion Aloi said the response from customers has already been positive, describing it as a rare bit of good news amid tougher times.
