Port Melbourne has a new destination for one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with Game4Padel opening a sprawling new indoor club on Plummer Street.
The new 5,636m² venue at 437 Plummer Street marks Game4Padel Australia’s third Victorian location, adding nine panoramic indoor courts to its network alongside clubs in Richmond and Docklands.
The new club has been designed as a social destination, bringing together padel, food, drinks, coworking and spaces to hang out under one roof.
And with the company’s Melbourne footprint now reaching 22 courts, the opening is another sign of just how quickly padel is establishing itself in the city.
Nine indoor courts, including two accessible courts

At the centre of the new Port Melbourne club is a large indoor playing area with nine panoramic courts, including a dedicated show court with spectator stands for tournament finals.
Two courts have been designed with wheelchair access, while G4P will also run coaching programs, weekly social sessions, leagues and tournaments for everyone from first-timers to advanced players.
For the uninitiated, padel is played predominantly in doubles on an enclosed court. The sport combines elements of tennis and squash, with walls forming part of the game.
Its easy-to-learn format and inherently social nature have helped fuel padel’s rapid global rise, with G4P expanding its footprint as more Melburnians pick up a racquet.
“Port Melbourne is an exciting milestone for Game4Padel Australia and our continued growth,” says G4P Australia CEO Cory Jimmieson. “The popularity of padel has grown significantly over the past couple of years, and a big part of its appeal is the community it creates.”
Eat, drink & work between games

G4P’s Port Melbourne offering extends well beyond the courts. Restaurant group Bang Bang is behind the venue’s café and bar, with a menu including roti wraps and salads, alongside Dimattina coffee, local craft beer and Isla vodka.
The dining area and bar look directly over the courts, while a separate lounge provides sofas for players and visitors to settle in before or after a game.
There’s also a fully equipped coworking space, giving members somewhere to work during the day before swapping the laptop for a racquet. A pro shop rounds out the offering, with Wilson racquets available to hire or buy, while Waterdrop microdrink cubes are available for hydration.
“We want G4P Port Melbourne to be a social destination where anyone can come and play, whether they’re new to padel or a seasoned pro,” says Jimmieson.
“The courts are at the heart of the club, but the café, bar, lounge and coworking spaces give people somewhere to spend time before and after they play.” “That’s an important part of what we’re building, and we’re excited to share our new club with the community,” Jimmieson says.
Big names back the game

Melbourne-based design practice Hot Black designed the interior, taking inspiration from the idea of ‘surge’—a reference to the movement and energy of padel beyond the court.
The existing industrial character of the warehouse remains visible through polished concrete, stone and steel, while natural oak, tan upholstery and green tones soften the space.
Formula 1 stars Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have all played at G4P, while tennis pros Alexander Zverev and Stan Wawrinka hit the courts when they’re in Melbourne.
Corporate groups are also picking up racquets, with more businesses turning to padel for team sessions and social events. That crossover between competitive sport, casual recreation and socialising is a key part of the sport’s growth—and one G4P is building into its Melbourne clubs.
G4P now has 22 Victorian courts

The Port Melbourne opening takes G4P Australia’s Victorian network to 22 courts across three locations: Port Melbourne, Richmond and Docklands.
The Australian business forms part of the global G4P group, which operates racquet-sports clubs across the UK, Europe, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.
The wider group has raised more than $25 million from investors including Wimbledon champion Sir Andy Murray and Liverpool FC star Virgil van Dijk.
In Melbourne, meanwhile, G4P has been steadily expanding since opening its first Victorian club in Docklands in 2022.
