The Harry Potter™: A Forbidden Forest Experience has recently opened at the Briars Community Forest, and visitors can’t deny that there is magic in the air! The experience will be running until June 30 2024 and offers Melbourne locals the opportunity to walk through the Forbidden Forest and meet magical creatures and characters. With so much childhood nostalgia and good memories surrounding this franchise, we knew we had to give it a visit and see what it was all about. Read on for our Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Melbourne review.
Our Experience
The trail was amazing, and took us around 50 minutes to complete. Not only did it have magical creatures along the way, but there were also sound effects. Music and voices taken from the movie floated around us and even there was even fog that came through the tress at one point. These elements really created an immersive experience and it felt like there was a new surprise around every corner!
The light trail, produced by Fever and Warner Bros Entertainment, has been crafted by acclaimed theatrical designers and experiential artists, and it really does transport you to an otherworldly adventure. We loved how interactive the experience was, being able to cast a patronus and bow to a hippogriff made all our fantasy dreams come true! Ending off our experience with a cosy drink at The Village was the perfect way to wrap up the adventure, especially since the nights are getting a bit cooler now.

A truly magical experience. From the moment we entered the forest, we were transported to an amazing world of sound and colour where anything was possible. Better than I ever imagined.
Absolutely amazing set-up, it was easy to follow and truly magical to see all of the props and creatures involved in the wizarding world. It truly brought it all to life and made you feel as if you were part of the world.
What an absolutely magical experience, a true delight to walk around the Briars with this spectacular light, music & moments from Harry Potter. A wonderful experience and I’m so glad I went to this. A massive amount of work has gone into this.
What a fantastic experience! The experience was well set up, with enough interactive elements to keep youngsters happy. The lighting and sound were well designed to create a mystical, magical experience, and the walk was the perfect length… long enough, but not too long. For families, the addition of having food and amenities available before the walk and halfway through was a bonus.
