Embark on a cinematic journey that’s out of this world with the return of the annual Spacetember Film Festival at IMAX. Leave behind the surly bonds of earth and immerse yourself in some of the best movies set in space, with the help of the gigantic film screen and powerful sound system. The festival will feature a range of exclusive IMAX expanded aspect ratio content and even 3D features. It will take over the cinema for the whole month of September.
Spacetember Film Festival at IMAX
This year, the festival will be headlined by Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, presented exclusively on IMAX 1570 film. It has been ten years since this masterpiece came out, and in that time, over 55,000 visitors have seen it at IMAX Melbourne.
A few movies on the line-up, such as Interstellar, First Man, Nope, both Dune films, Space Station 3D and Hubble 3D, feature full-screen IMAX sequences. This means that the film will vertically expand, and fill up the entire seven-storey screen, giving you 40 per cent more image than other cinemas.
