Melbourne’s wellness scene has a new spot in the south-east, with KĀYA Health Clubs opening its third local outpost inside Chadstone Shopping Centre.
The launch marks the brand’s largest and most comprehensive club to date, bringing together reformer Pilates, yoga, strength training and recovery under a single roof.
Positioned within one of Australia’s busiest retail destinations, the new space continues KĀYA’s push to reframe the modern gym experience as something closer to a sanctuary than a sweat factory.
A full-spectrum wellness hub in one destination

KĀYA Chadstone has been designed around an all-in-one training model that collapses the typical fragmentation of fitness routines. Instead of moving between studios and specialist centres, members can flow between reformer Pilates, yoga, HIIT-style circuit training, cardio zones and traditional weights training within the same space.
Two dedicated reformer Pilates studios anchor the offering, supported by a yoga studio and a high-intensity circuit space. On the gym floor, cardio and strength zones cater to more traditional training styles, rounding out a format aimed at both structured programming and flexible movement.

One of the defining features of the new club is its dedicated Recovery Lounge, signalling a broader shift in how wellness spaces are evolving in Melbourne.
The space includes infrared sauna, red light therapy and compression therapy, positioning recovery as an equal pillar alongside training and movement rather than an afterthought. Premium fitness operators are increasingly adopting this model, but it remains relatively rare at this scale in a single integrated venue.
A “sanctuary” inside a shopping centre

The brand describes the club as a sanctuary embedded within the energy of the centre, with interiors and programming focused on slowing the pace and creating a sense of separation from the surrounding retail intensity.
Christian Ruggeri and Koula Ruggeri, who founded KĀYA in 2012, continue to steer the brand’s direction as a family-run operation with more than three decades of combined industry experience.
The pair have consistently framed KĀYA as more than a gym chain, instead positioning it around the idea of “body and mind” integration, drawing from the Sanskrit-rooted concept of kāya as well as interpretations of home and wholeness across different cultures.

The new launch joins KĀYA’s existing Melbourne footprint at Prahran and Emporium Melbourne, strengthening its presence across both inner-city and metropolitan retail precincts.
The expansion also signals a growing appetite for hybrid wellness clubs that combine boutique studio experiences with full gym facilities and recovery technology, an approach that sits somewhere between luxury fitness studio and traditional health club.
From Prahran to Emporium to Chadstone

KĀYA’s broader philosophy continues to centre on integration: movement, strength and recovery as part of a single routine rather than separate weekly commitments scattered across different venues.
At Chadstone, that idea is built into the architecture itself, with members encouraged to move fluidly between modalities depending on energy, training goals and recovery needs.
Tours are now available at the new club, with doors officially open to members and visitors. More information is available via KĀYA Health Clubs.
