If you’ve danced to K-pop, cried over K-dramas, love Korean food or are just curious to learn more about Korean culture, you’ll be happy to know that Korea Festival is returning to Fed Square. Back in Melbourne this week, this incredible event is the perfect way for you to ride the Hallyu wave and develop an interest in Korea. The festival is free to attend, and will take place on Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11.
Korea Festival
This cultural event has introduced Korea to Melbourne since 2014. This year, you can expect heaps of delicious Korean food, as well as cultural booths with traditional clothing to try on and crafts to check out.
Celebrate Korean culture with a variety of performances, including traditional music, Taekwondo demonstrations, a K-pop dance and singing competition, and much more. On Saturday, there will also be a live cooking demonstration from Chef Lawrence Cha.
There will also be plenty of activities to keep you occupied, including some challenges inspired by the Netflix phenomenon, Squid Game. If you’d like to play this year, you can sign up for registration at the info stall.
The festival will kick off at 12pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday. Both days will conclude at 8pm with a K-pop competition.
