If you’re yearning for a holiday to South Korea, consider this a sign. Korean Air is launching direct flights between Melbourne and Seoul, running three times a week. This seasonal service will run from December 18 until March 14, 2027.
Korean Air in Melbourne
This is the first time since 2013 that the carrier has operated out of Melbourne. Korean Air will take over the route that was previously used by Asiana Airlines, with the two carriers finally completing their merger.
Passengers will be soaring on board a Boeing 787-9, dining on comforting meals like bibimbap. The flight will leave Incheon International Airport at 8am, and land in Melbourne at 8:30pm. Meanwhile, the return flight will leave Melbourne at 10pm, and arrive in Incheon at 7:35am the following day. Flights will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“The resumption of Korean Air operations at Melbourne Airport is a great outcome for Victorian travellers and for our tourism and trade ties with South Korea,” said Melbourne Airport Chief of Aviation Jim Parashos. “We look forward to welcoming Korean Air back to Melbourne Airport and seeing this route continue to grow as part of the carrier’s long-haul strategy.”
The airline also runs year-round flights from Sydney and Brisbane.
