We’ve certainly been layering up and keeping warm over the past few days, but Lido Cinemas is inviting you to take it all off for a special nude screening later this month. Strip bare, or wear just your undies, and watch the absurdist New Zealand comedy, Nude Tuesday. In this bonkers film, a suburban couple go to a new-age retreat in order to save their marriage. As they struggle to find themselves and each other, you’re invited to push the boundaries with them, and experience the journey in the nude. This screening will take place on Sunday June 26.
Nude Tuesday at Lido Cinemas
Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time Lido Cinemas has run a nude screening. Last year, patrons were invited to strip down for a screening of Patrick, a Belgian tragi-comedy set in a nudist camp. As such, the venue has some finely tuned rules in place to help ensure that everyone has a safe and fun time.
Clothing is required when you enter the venue, when you’re purchasing items from the candy bar, and when you’re going to the bathroom. You will get a chance to undress inside the cinema itself. The screening is restricted to those over the age of 18, and you must bring a towel to sit on. Respect for other people’s personal space is a must, and of course, photography is strictly prohibited.
If you’re interested in the film, check out the trailer below:
Nude Tuesday is directed by Armagan Ballantyne, and stars Jackie van Beek, Damon Herriman, and Jemaine Clement. If you’re interested in seeing the film with your clothes on, other sessions are available for you to check out.
