On Wednesday, 24 May the Toorak Synagogue will be opening its doors for a special one-night concert event, Live at Toorak. The night will be headlined by two exceptional musicians, cellist Umberto Clerici and pianist Konstantin Shamray.
The Live at Yours concert series has been a great hit in Sydney, and now it has made its way to Melbourne. Live At Yours aims to bring world-class musicians to intimate venues, and their first concert in Melbourne featuring cellist Umberto Clerici and pianist Konstantin Shamraywill not disappoint.
Umberto Clerici, Chief Conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, has had a 20-year-long career as a professional solo cellist and orchestral musician. He has performed around the world and astonished audiences with his incredible mastery of his instrument.
Renowned concert pianist, Konstantin Shamray has performed on an international level with the world’s leading orchestras and concert presenters. He is the recipient of multiple national and international musical awards for his performances and has played alongside some of the biggest orchestras in the world.
Now, for one night, these two musicians will be performing alongside each other, in an incredible program honouring some of the best works of musical romanticism. Guests can look forward to renditions of Bruch’s Kol Nidrei and Rachmaninov’s Cello sonata, plus a surprise from the Toorak Synagogue Choir.
The Toorak Synagogue is a stunning heritage-listed building located in the heart of Melbourne’s South Yarra. The building’s exterior is adorned with intricate geometric patterns and Jewish symbols, and inside, it features soaring ceilings, stained-glass windows, and decorative plasterwork.
