There’s so many wonderful markets to check out lately, such as the new Melbourne Makers Market in the CBD and the Second Life Archive fashion market in North Melbourne. And now, Australia Post is throwing their very own event, bringing together 50 of Australia’s emerging small businesses together. At the inaugural Making Moves Market, you’ll find a curated selection of stalls, showcasing a range of fashion, beauty, food products, homewares and more. The market will run from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, September 20. It’s free to attend, and you’ll find it at Abbotsford Convent.
Making Moves Market
This is the first market of its kind for Australia Post, with plans to bring this event to more cities around the country. In this space, small businesses will have a way to showcase their wares, grow their brand and meet new customers.
Spend a leisurely day wandering through the stalls, chat to the vendors and learn more about their stories. Vendors on the line-up include:
- Bippi – feel the heat with the Calabrian-style chilli from this Melbourne-based Italian food brand.
- Ferguson’s Treatos – find tasty dog treats and chews for your pooch.
- Golden Groves – stock up your pantry with extra virgin olive oil from Mani, Greece.
- Gracious Minds – discover skincare for every stage of life.
- Miou Matcha – purchase some premium matcha to take home.
- Roasting Warehouse – grab some specialty coffee from this Melbourne roastery.
- With Harper Lu – find resort and event wear from this ethical Melbourne-made fashion brand.
- and more!
When you’re not browsing through the stalls, add a little pep in your step with some free coffee from the Peak-Me-Up coffee van. Food trucks, such as A1 Bakery, Toasta and Cobb Lane Bakery, will also be on site if you’re feeling hungry.
There will also be plenty to see and do, with live DJs, music and entertainment, family-friendly activities and a dedicated kids’ area. There will also be a sensory-friendly space and quiet zone for families and children. On the day, you can also expect competitions and giveaways.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to come along, as long as they’re on a lead.
If you can’t make it on the day, Abbotsford Convent also hosts a regular Regional Farmers Market on the second Saturday of each month.
