A one-night hotel stay just isn’t enough to explore the city.
One night in a hotel is less than 24 hours, which in our opinion is nowhere near enough time to explore a city. Any city. Least of all Melbourne. (Featured image: Felix Haumann)
Returning for round two then is Melbourne’s FOMO hotel experience packages, where luxury hotels across Melbourne are offering guests a free night of accommodation when they book in one night.
Hotels included in the round two experience package include the Lancemore Crossley Street, the Sebel Melbourne Docklands, the Mantra on Russel Street as well as Citadines on Bourke Street, the Marriott and Sofitel Melbourne at the Paris-end of Collins Street. There are nine hotels in total taking part in the offer.
And it’s not just an extra night you’ll get for free either. Some hotels are also offering wine on arrival, late checkout, breakfast for two and even a takeaway coffee when checking out.
According to Melbourne city councillor Roshena Campbell, occupancy rates at Melbourne’s hotels have dropped from 95% pre-pandemic to just 36% now.
”We want to do all we can to encourage both regional Victorians and Melburnians to enjoy a holiday filled with all the things Melbourne does best,” said Campbell.
The offers vary between hotels but are valid for stays from 14 May until 4 June 2021. You’ll have to book in quick because hotels are filling up quick since there’s plenty to do in Melbourne in May.
