Indulge in a feast at your local café.
Mr Miyagi, home of Chapel Street’s famous nori tacos, is doing a One Night Stand pop-up event at three different locations. Catch them at Little By Little in Berwick on Friday August 13. Then, see them at The Hamptons Bakery in Hampton on Saturday August 14. Finally, catch them in the middle of the week at Ginger Fox in Beaumaris on Wednesday August 18.
One Night Stand
Mr Miyagi started this pop-up event, One Night Stand, when Melbourne’s hospitality scene was affected by COVID during 2020. With the current lockdown, One Night Stand is back, and it’s landing at these cafés for one night only. Expect six courses of delicious food from Mr Miyagi, and dessert for the seventh course provided by your local café. Pre-orders are available now.
They’ve done all the thinking for you, preparing their best dishes in different packages available for two, three or four people.
Choose between a vegetarian package or a package for meat-lovers. Indulge in delicious treats like salmon or eggplant nori tacos, mushroom baos and dumplings.
If you opt for a Complete Package, they’ll add in a bottle of wine of your choosing.
If you’re missing Mr Miyagi’s delicious cocktails, you can also purchase some of their cocktails in a box. Try Charlie Does Tokyo, which has sloe gin, umeshu, yuzu and lime, or try Sanchez Does Kyoto, which has tequila, yuzu and agave. Both of these cocky-boxes contain about six serves, and there’s no prep required. Simply pour it into a glass and you’re good to go!
You can also make lockdown a bit more bubbly by adding on a 1.5 litre bottle of Moët & Chandon Brut.
Of course, the point of One Night Stand is to not only showcase Mr Miyagi’s signature dishes in suburbs around Melbourne, but to highlight a café in the local community. That’s why the seventh course of the night will be a dessert lovingly prepared by either Little By Little, The Hamptons Bakery or Ginger Fox.
