Mr. Miyagi, iconic Japanese restaurant in Windsor, has partnered up with QT Melbourne for a unique dining experience. Originally meant to last for six weeks and end in mid-August, Mr. Miyagi In The Big Smoke features a curated menu of slow-cooked meat, smoke and fire. And now, due to popular demand, this pop-up experience has been extended until Friday September 2.
Head down QT Melbourne’s Hot Sauce Laneway for this smoky pop-up experience. The menu is designed to share, and all dishes can be paired with a Japanese-inspired beverage list from QT, or with one of Mr. Miyagi’s signature Cocky Ts.
The juicy, slow-cooked meats on the menu are smoked over BinchÅtan, and served in a delicate way. Feast on theatrical smoked salmon, served with a cloud of smoke, and tuck into larger dishes like Togorashi Lamb Chop, served with edamame and pea smash with shiso dressing, or Smoked Sticky Soy Scotch with smoky glaze, shichimi spice, white ginger and sesame. Another crowd favourite is their Japanese Style Rockling Tortialla, a house-made nori soft tortilla with yuzu yoghurt, grilled shishito peppers and shiso salt. End the evening with a show-stopping Hickory Smoked Miso Caramel Coal.
QT Melbourne has developed a cocktail list inspired by smoke, char and embers, and filled with Japanese spirits. The hero cocktail is the Golden Gai, a theatrical and modern twist on a Manhattan. This drink emits a sweet-smelling haze, and a delectable mix of sweet and smoky flavours.
Hotel guests at QT are also welcome to order a selection of signature dishes from Mr. Miyagi for room service during this pop-up period.
Bookings are available now, with seating times at 5/5:15pm, 6:45/7pm and 8:30/8:45pm. The pop-up will run from Thursday to Saturday, from now until Friday September 2.
