It’s hard to believe, but the Myer Christmas Windows have been enchanting Melburnians for 71 years. Stroll over to Bourke Street Mall and take part in this beloved local tradition. This year, Myer has teamed up with Disney and Pixar to bring the Toy Story picture book, Merry Christmas Woody, to life. Take a peek inside the six iconic windows this festive season, and marvel at your favourite characters, like Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. See the Myer Christmas Windows every day from Saturday, November 7 to Tuesday, January 5.

Myer Christmas Windows 2026
The story follows Woody as he worries about finding the perfect presents for his friends. Meanwhile, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bo Peep, Hamm, Slinky and the rest of the toys are getting ready for Buzz’s Christmas party. Watch as the toys wrap presents in Andy’s room and dress Rex up as Santa. See Buzz create a magical light show, and join Woody as he learns that all that matters is spending Christmas with his friends. As you go, look out for hidden Easter eggs from Disney and Pixar in each window.

“Toy Story is loved by generations and holds a special place in the hearts of Australians,” said Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand. “It’s an enduring story of friendship and belonging and we can’t wait for families and fans to experience and share this wondrous moment this Christmas.”
The story is narrated by Australian cook and TV presenter Andy Allen, and uses the craftsmanship of Stage One’s Creative and Technical Director, John Kerr.
The display took over 10,000 hours to construct. Over 200 special paint colours were mixed for this experience, with over 100 of them specific to Toy Story characters. The animation includes almost 100 fully customised movements, with characters wrapping, bouncing, jumping and even abseiling. Like the book, each Christmas tree is made up of over 100 hand-made cotton balls.

When you’re not admiring the Windows, pop into The Basement at Myer Melbourne. There, you’ll find Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story Play Zone. Find all sorts of Christmas creations and activities for all ages, including a book corner and an interactive Lilypad. This area will also have plenty of photo moments for the family. This area will open on Saturday, November 7 and run until Christmas Eve.
