The NBA will stage its first-ever NBA House in Australia this May, turning The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne into a 6,000-square-metre celebration of basketball from 14th to 17th May.
Timed with the 2026 NBA Playoffs, the four-day event will include live viewing parties, basketball challenges, player appearances and interactive zones designed for fans of all ages.
Operated by Seeker Agency, the Australian edition will showcase everything from skills games and NBA 2K26 sessions to a pop-up store selling limited-edition merchandise.
A Four-Day Basketball Takeover

The Larry O’Brien Trophy will also travel to Melbourne for the event, giving visitors the chance to see the championship silverware up close.
Across the four days, the festival will showcase music, DJs, local food and drinks, plus partner activations and organizers will reveal giveaways and celebrity appearances.
Rajah Chaudhry, head of strategy for NBA Asia, said the launch comes at a time of unprecedented growth for Australian basketball fans. “Bringing NBA House to Australia will energise our fanbase at a time where the momentum around basketball has never been greater,” he said.
“NBA House has delighted fans all over the world, and we look forward to what will be a multi-day celebration of basketball and the NBA for fans in Melbourne as we approach the pinnacle of the season.”
Global Basketball Concept In Australia

The NBA has previously staged NBA House in Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Mexico, the US, and the UK, connecting local communities with the global league through immersive fan experiences each time.
Melbourne’s edition follows the NBAxNBL Series in 2025, when the New Orleans Pelicans played two exhibition games in the city.
Fans can register for updates and presale access here, and the league will release further details in the coming weeks.
