Our top recommendations
1. Shadow and Bone
This fantasy drama based on Leigh Bardugo’s bestselling Grishaverse novels and starring newcomer Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov has been long-anticipated by loyalists of the books. The story revolves around a teenaged orphan who discovers she has a power that may be able to help save her nation. The buzz around this one is so strong that a second season is reportedly already in the works.
2. Thunder Force
An apt title for a movie starring two absolute forces- Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer. The action-comedy sees the former best friends’ team up after a science experiment goes wrong and gives them both superpowers. This one’s bound to be a hoot.
3. Snabba Cash
This series follows a single mother who gets caught up in the world of crime while trying to find her foothold in the world of start-ups. The story based on Jens Lapidus’s Stockholm Noir which are uber popular in Sweden have already been made into very successful movies but clearly viewers can’t get enough of the story.
4. Dad Stop Embarrassing Me

Jamie Foxx stars in and executive produces this sitcom about a businessman who must suddenly learn the ropes of parenthood when his teenage daughter moves in with him. While we have seen this trope on screen before, this is one we’re looking forward to.
