Fall in love with Indonesian culture and cuisine at a massive evening event in Fed Square. At Nongkrong – Pasar Senja (twilight fair), you’ll listen to live music, see dance performances, feast on delicious food, discover goods at a market and more. It’s free to attend, and it reimagines the Indonesian tradition of gathering at dusk to eat and nongkrong (hang out) with the community. Find the festival at Fed Square from 3pm to 10pm on Saturday, February 14.

Nongkrong – Pasar Senja at Fed Square
Nongkrong is a festival by a network of Indonesian-Australians who are passionate about creating spaces for the diaspora to connect, maintain ties with their homeland and celebrate their identity through food and arts.
Look forward to food stalls and gerobaks (food carts) from five vendors, serving up mouth-watering dishes from Indonesian restaurants. Tasia and Gracia from the Makan restaurant will serve up chicken satay, grilled corn and rendang, while Diana’s Kitchen will dish up nasi tumpeng and traditional snacks. Meanwhile, Warkop will provide Australian-Indonesian sandwiches, while PBK Noodles will showcase their handmade egg noodles. At the street food cart, you’ll find classic Indonesian snacks reimagined by chefs like Nagesh Seethiah, Rosheen Kaul and Narit Kimsat.
Entertainment

Expect seven live music acts and three dance performances. Headliners include Ali, who blend Middle Eastern culture with elements of 70s Indonesian rock, soul, Afro beat, funk and disco to create a melting pot of sound.
Meanwhile, Candra Darusman will bring his smooth vocals to the stage, sweeping you away with the sounds of jazz. He will be joined by Lemes Band, a collective of musicians who are known for flipping Indonesian classics on their heads.
As for the dancing, look forward to traditional and contemporary performances, including street dance.
When you’re not vibing to the tunes, swing by the Senja Design Market (sunset market). You’ll find handmade goods from Indonesian designers and artists, including jewellery, clothes, homewards, zines, books and even Nongkrong merch.
From 3pm to 6pm, there will also be a free weaving workshop, hosted by artist Patriot Mukmin.
