The Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre (NARC) will have a heated pool outdoors, with ten lanes that are 50 metres long, as well as a nature-based splash pad. Indoors, you’ll find a heated pool with eight 25-metre lanes, a learn-to-swim pool, a warm water pool with integrated spa, an aquatic play area with water slides and steam/sauna facilities. The venue will also have an 800 square metre fitness centre and multi-purpose spaces for group fitness and reformer Pilates. Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre will open on Monday November 13.

This venue in Darebin will be a hub for the community, with plenty of activities and events planned for the future.
“It is so exciting to be opening the doors again to this highly valued and utilised facility for the community to enjoy,” said Darebin Mayor Cr Julie Williams. “This stunning new sustainable facility has been built fit-for-purpose so everyone can feel welcome and included, whether you are young or old, living with disability or doing rehabilitation programs, this facility is for you.”
The change rooms will include female, male, gender neutral, family and school groups, as well as dedicated spaces for accessibility, in order to accommodate all members of the community.
Get a taste of the venue by taking part in The Big Warm Up. The centre will run a limited series of Pilates, Yoga and bootcamp classes in the lead-up to their opening day. There will also be a Community Open Day on Sunday November 12. You’re welcome to attend, but spaces are limited, so you should register beforehand.
