This list was created from over 195,000 verified reviews and dining metrics, looking at factors like percentage of reservations made in advance, diner ratings and Sunday brunch availability. Dining out on Mother’s Day is a popular way to celebrate, with reservations on OpenTable increasing by 23% from 2024 to 2025. In 2025, 11am was the top time for bookings, showing a preference for a leisurely brunch or early lunch among diners. There was also a rise in curated dining experiences, with more restaurants offering special Mother’s Day menus.
And when you’re brainstorming for Mother’s Day, you might think about going for a classic high tea experience. But, Japanese cuisine is seeing the fastest growth of any cuisine for Australian diners, with a 61% increase in dining on Mother’s Day in 2025.
