Valentine’s Day is on the horizon, and to help you get inspired, OpenTable has put together a list of the Top 50 Romantic Restaurants in Australia. The list was created from over 175,000 verified reviews and dining metrics, looking at key factors like percentage of reservations made in advance, percentage of five star reviews, and percentage of reviews with the tag “romantic”. And to our delight, a whopping 18 restaurants from Victoria made it onto the list. We were tied for first as the most romantic state in the country, along with Queensland, which also had 18 restaurants.

Top 50 Romantic Restaurants in Australia, according to OpenTable
It seems like more and more Australians are going out to eat on both Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day (February 13). OpenTable looked at the number of seated diners from online reservations, and found that in 2025, dining on Valentine’s Day increased by 65% from the previous year, and there was also a 9% increase in average spend. Meanwhile, dining on Galentine’s Day increased by 71%.
As for the most romantic spots around the country, OpenTable looked at data from December 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025, to determine the results. The final list is in alphabetical order, and is not ranked.
