A new microbrewery and distillery is coming to Phillip Island, thanks to a $1.2 million government investment. Rhyll Brewery and Distillery will feature a 120-seat bar and restaurant, a brewery theatre and waterfront views. This development, located on the Rhyll foreshore, is expected to be complete in September 2023.

The venue will feature a wide range of freshy brewed seasonal craft beer and bespoke spirits. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s menu will showcase the best produce from around Phillip Island. There will also be a range of events, such as masterclasses with guest brewers and distillers. Inside the brewery theatre, visitors will be able to watch and learn more about the beer making process.
“Visitors to the Rhyll Brewery and Distillery will be able to relax and have a drink while soaking up the waterfront views — another reason to stay even longer on Phillip Island,” said Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Martin Pakula.
Rhyll is a historically significant fishing village, and the upcoming microbrewery and distillery will be designed to reflect its heritage.
This brewery won’t be the only new arrival on Phillip Island in 2023. Head to Newhaven next year for a highly-anticipated hot springs and wellness centre. The hot springs also received a funding boost from the government, in order to encourage more visitors to Phillip Island.
