Rituals: Gifts For The Gods at Hellenic Museum
Many of these artefacts will be exhibited outside of Greece for the very first time. See objects taken from sacred caves and sanctuaries, and learn about how rituals are used to find meaning as we navigate through life.
Journey back to the earliest cults and sanctuaries of the ancient Aegean, then continue on through the Neolithic, Minoan and Mycenaean period. Learn about the adoption of Olympian gods and mythologies, and explore ancient games, festivals, healing, divination and more. The collection examines the hopes, fears and desires of the ancient days, and looks at mankind’s longing for a connection with the divine.
As you move through the exhibition, you’ll also see digital reconstructions of archaeological sites. Experience the grounds of Mycenae, the Acropolis, Olympia, Delphi, Epidaurus and Sounion. See archival material exploring the history of the collection. Then, take part in an interactive experience and consult the Oracle of Delphi with the help of AI.
Entry is included with general admission, and kids can visit for free!
