The magnificent Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld has been delighting foodies in the Grampians for years. And if you’ve been keen to try it out, but you haven’t had time to make the trip, you’re in luck. This two-hatted venue is coming to Melbourne for the first time. Wander into the grand ballroom of Rippon Lea Estate, and indulge in their multi-course menu for a limited time this winter. This pop-up experience will take over Rippon Lea on select dates throughout July and August. Bookings are available now.
Royal Mail Hotel at Rippon Lea Estate
The multi-course menu will showcase produce harvested straight from Royal Mail Hotel’s organic kitchen garden, the largest working kitchen garden in Australia. Indulge in veggies grown in the volcanic soil of the Grampians, and transformed by Executive Chef Robin Wickens. The menu will shift with each harvest, with dishes designed around seasonal produce, like cool-climate citrus and slow-grown root vegetables.
“This is about bringing the essence of what makes Royal Mail Hotel special – our connection to place, season and exceptional produce – to Melbourne diners who might never make the journey to Dunkeld,” said Wickens.
On arrival, you’ll receive a cocktail or mocktail inspired by Rippon Lea. This fine dining experience lasts for three hours, and you can choose to purchase additional drinks throughout the night, or go for a curated beverage pairing.
