Winemakers from Rutherglen are travelling back down the Hume Highway to showcase their best drops. Head to The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne for a day of wine tastings, as well as wine masterclasses, live music and paired food options from north east Victorian produce. Rutherglen in the City will take place on Saturday October 14.
Rutherglen in the City
Taste over 100 rare and boutique wines from the Rutherglen region. Located three hours away from Melbourne, this region is home to over 160 years of winemaking history.
On arrival, you’ll receive your own stemless tasting tumbler to keep. Find something different at each pop-up cellar door, and look forward to new season releases, cellar door exclusives and back vintages.
Sip on the famous Muscat of Rutherglen, a mysterious and flavoursome drink that’s somewhere between a wine and a spirit.

There will be masterclasses on the day, so that you can meet some of the winemakers and learn a bit more about the wine. Learn about the red grape durif, pair your wine with chocolate and more! Masterclasses are $10 per person.
You’ll find wine available by the glass, the bottle or to take home, so you can stock up on your favourites.
Rutherglen in the City will run from 11:30am to 5:30pm. Tickets can be pre-purchased online for $35. Otherwise, they’re $40 on the day.
