If your furry friend is having a ruff day, cheer them up with a trip to the upcoming Scratch Patch, a doggy play park in Edinburgh Gardens. There are heaps of cool dog zones, so every dog, from the timid to the adventurous, can have some fun. This experiential park will stick around for a limited time only, from Saturday March 5 to Sunday March 27. Bookings are essential.
This cool dog space is brought to you by Scratch, a dog food company based in Melbourne. Bring your pet along, and let them have some fun. The Scratch Patch team will supply the poo bags, water and a tuck shop full of doggie treats, so you and your furry friend can focus on having a good time. The dogs will be split into two zones, one for smaller pooches and one for larger floofers. Each play area will have five dogs per hour, and both contain fun things, such as tunnels, ball pits, ramps, a bath and more.
There’s something for every dog at Scratch Patch.
1. For the adventurous
There will be doggy paddle pools for your dog to splash around in and stay cool, as well as plenty of spots for them to dig, get dirty and sniff some butts.
2. For high performers
Let your dogs show off their skills on the agility course, play fetch from the stick library, and impress people with all the cool tricks they know.
3. For the timid
If you have a shy dog, give them a little nudge and help them make some friends. Only five dogs are permitted in each zone at a time, so it will be a managed fun space for your pal to give a go.
4. For seniors
Just because they’re getting old and grey doesn’t mean they can’t have some fun! Let your older dogs play in the chilled-out sections.
On top of the cool play areas, there will also be special events during the pop-up season. These include fun things like a fashion show, a session for dogs that look just like their owners, and a singles event for you to meet other single pet parents. There will also be a special rescue night, where a local rescue shelter will bring their dogs, and help them find a forever home. If you would like to adopt a dog, this is the perfect way to meet your future best friend.
Where: Edinburgh Gardens, Fitzroy North, VIC 3068.

Cost: If you’re a Scratch customer, or a City of Yarra resident, Scratch Patch is free to attend. Otherwise, it is $10 per dog.
Duration: Each booking session will last for one hour.
All dogs are welcome to play off leash in the Scratch Patch. However, bring your leash and keep them supervised at all times, just in case. All dogs must be friendly and social, so if you have a stressed or aggressive pet, it’s best to stay at home. Dogs must also be vaccinated, and up to date on their flea treatments.
